How Women Can Sell their services with ease and confidence

As someone who is in the business of helping entrepreneurs to be successful, I get to hear a lot of people’s stories.

And there’s one story that I am on a mission to change.

Let me take you through a scenario I’ve experienced hundreds of times.

I’m talking to a woman entrepreneur either at a networking event or in a consult for my services and I ask the question “How are you currently getting clients?”

Her answer: “Just through referrals.”

Even though I’ve heard that answer hundreds of times, my heart still drops.

Because that says to me that this woman is hiding, that she’s not being visible, so therefore the people who need her help can’t find her. It also means she’s probably not reaching her financial potential and could very well be struggling financially.

And I get it. It can feel really terrible to “sell” your services or have to promote your business.

Tell me if this sounds familiar to you:

You’re a woman entrepreneur who is amazing at what you do, but the thought of having to promote your services and sell them gives you a knot in your stomach.

You hesitate to tell someone how much you charge because you’re worried they won’t be able to afford it.

You’d rather take a sharp stick in the eye then send another e-mail to your list about your upcoming program.

Your income is inconsistent because inviting potential clients to work with you feels pushy so you don’t do it.

All of the above is what holds women back from making the money they want to make and having the impact they desire.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

As a woman, you can get to the place where sales and promotion feel like making a generous offer. But first you need to know how to interact with potential clients in a way that feels good to you.

What I’ve learned is that sales and marketing in much of the business world tends to operate in a totally masculine paradigm.

No wonder it’s hard for most women to be successful there.

That world is all about making the sale and getting the potential client to say yes, regardless of what it takes.

When you’re working in the feminine, it’s an entirely different energy. Women are nurturers who thrive on connection and get their power from relationship. When you tap into these qualities, promoting your services feels natural and easy.
